Biman Captain Nawshad’s body to be brought back on Thursday

The body of Captain Nawshad Ataul Quaiyum, who passed away on Monday in the Indian state of Maharashtra, will be brought in Dhaka on Thursday at 8:30am.

State Minister for Civil Aviation and Tourism Md Mahbub Ali revealed this information while taking to reporters at the secretariat on Wednesday.

Captain Qayyum was in “coma” and under ventilation support at the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of a hospital after suffering a “massive cardiac arrest” in mid-air at a Dhaka-bound Bangladesh Biman Airlines flight (BG-022) from Muscat on Friday (August 26).

On Friday, Captain Qayyum made an emergency landing safely with 124 passengers on board in Nagpur airport in India, after he felt sick in mid-air.
